Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan discuss regional, int'l issues

CAIRO: Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi met with Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Jordanian King Abdullah II in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh to discuss collaboration in a range of disciplines, as well as regional and international challenges.

The three presidents discussed "mutual cooperation toward numerous matters of common interest, as well as recent developments on the regional and international arenas and the difficulties confronting the region," according to a statement released by the Egyptian presidency on Sunday.

The three countires highlighted the importance of bolstering the "brotherly and strategic" connection between the three countries to greater heights in order to achieve mutual aims and interests.

They also expressed support for the planned meeting in Saudi Arabia in July, which will bring together leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, and the United States, according to the statement.
