New Delhi: Today, the festival of Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated all over the country. People offered prayers in Jama Masjid, Delhi on Saturday morning. Namaz was performed in Delhi's Jama Masjid at 6.5 am. The pandemic is causing havoc in the whole country. The mosque administration repeatedly asked the people who came to offer prayers in Jama Masjid to keep a distance. They appealed to all to offer prayers following social distancing.

The policemen posted in Jama Masjid gave people entry to the mosque only after conducting the thermal screening. During this period there were some Namazi who were seen following social distancing but some were also seen violating it. During this time, the people sitting in the mosque were offering prayers, but the people sitting at the back appeared very close while offering namaz. Many people also offered namaz by sitting on the stairs of the mosque.

Eid-ul-Azha means Bakrid is the second biggest festival of Muslims after Eid-ul-Fitr. On both these occasions, special namaz is performed by going to Idgah or in mosques. ou will also be aware that Eid-ul Fitr has the custom of making sheer khurma, while goats or other animals are sacrificed on Eid-ul Juha.
