According to the Hindu calendar, the Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha that falls every month is called Sankashti Chaturthi and the Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha is called Vinayaka Chaturthi. On the other hand, the Chaturthi date of Krishna Paksha of Jyeshtha month is called Ekadanta Sankashti Chaturthi. This year Ekadanta Sankashti Chaturthi is falling on Thursday, May 19. On this day, devotees worship the first revered Lord Ganesha according to the law for happiness, peace and prosperity. Lord Ganesha is considered a disruptor for the devotees. It is said that worshiping Vighnaharta removes all the sufferings of the devotees. Ganesh ji is the first worshiper and is also a symbol of auspiciousness. According to the belief, worshiping Lord Ganesha on this day and keeping a fast brings wisdom and opulence.

Mythology- The marriage of Lord Vishnu was fixed with Lakshmiji. The wedding preparations started. Invitations were sent to all the deities, but Ganesha was not invited, whatever the reason. Now the time has come to go to Lord Vishnu's procession. All the deities along with their wives came to the marriage ceremony. They all saw that Ganeshji was nowhere to be seen. Then they started discussing among themselves whether Ganesha is not invited? Or has Ganesha himself not come? Everyone was surprised at this. Then everyone thought that the reason for this should be asked from Lord Vishnu. On asking Lord Vishnu, he said that we have sent an invitation to Lord Ganesha's father, Bholenath Mahadev. If Ganeshji wanted to come with his father, he would have come, there was no need to invite him separately. The second thing is that they need half a mind of moong, half a mind of rice, half a mind of ghee and half a mind of laddus throughout the day. If Ganeshji doesn't come, it doesn't matter. It doesn't feel good to go to someone else's house and drink so much food.

They were talking so much that one of them suggested that even if Ganesha comes, he will make him a gatekeeper and make him sit so that you remember the house. If you sit on a mouse and walk slowly, you will be left far behind the procession. Everyone liked this suggestion, so Lord Vishnu also gave his consent. What was to happen that Ganeshji came there and after persuading him, made him sit to guard the house. The procession went on, then Naradji saw that Ganeshji was sitting at the door, so he went to Ganeshji and asked the reason for his stay. Ganeshji started saying that Lord Vishnu has insulted me a lot. Naradji said that if you send your mouse army forward, then it will dig a path through which their vehicles will sink into the earth, then you will have to call respectfully.

Now Ganeshji quickly sent his mouse army forward and the army polled the land. When the procession left from there, the wheels of the chariots sank into the earth. Try a million, but the wheels do not come off. Everyone took their own measures, but the wheels did not come out, but broke from place to place. Nobody knew what to do now. Then Naradji said – You did not do any good by insulting Ganeshji. If they are persuaded and brought, then your work can be proved and this crisis can be averted. Lord Shankar sent his messenger Nandi and he brought Ganeshji. Worshiped Ganesh ji with respect and then the wheels of the chariot came out. Now the wheels of the chariot are gone, but they are broken, so who will repair them?

Khati was working in a nearby field, he was called. Before doing his work, he started worshiping Ganesha by saying 'Shri Ganeshaya Namah'. Soon Khati fixed all the wheels. Then Khati started saying that O Gods! You would not have celebrated or worshiped Ganesha in the first place, that is why this crisis has come with you. We are ignorant fools, yet we worship Lord Ganesha first and meditate on him. You people are gods, yet how did you forget Ganesha? Now if you go by chanting the jai of Lord Ganesha, then all your work will be done and there will be no trouble.

Saying this the procession left from there and after solemnizing the marriage of Lord Vishnu with Lakshmi, all returned home safely. Oh Lord Ganesha! You have proved Vishnu as Karaj Saariyo, such Karaj prove to everyone. Say Glory to God Gajanan.
