Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pankaja Munde has said that he is not disappointed with the party not nominating a candidate for the upcoming Legislative Council elections in the state. Pankaja, the daughter of late leader Gopinath Munde and a minister in the Fadnavis government, had lost the last assembly election to her cousin and NCP candidate Dhananjay Munde on the Parali seat.

In a tweet on Friday, Pankaja addressed her supporters and said that we are there to support each other. We have the blessings of Saheb (Gopinath Munde) with us. You have expressed regret by calling my mother and sister Pritam Munde. I did not talk to you because I have nothing to say. I am not disappointed. I wish the four candidates declared by the party all the best.

Party sources said that senior leader Eknath Khadse is hurt by not being nominated for the Legislative Council. The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded former NCP MP Ranjit Singh Mohit, Gopichand Padalkar, Praveen Datke and Ajit Gopchade in the elections for the nine seats of the Legislative Council on May 21. These people have filed their nominations on Friday. Members of the Legislative Assembly with 288 members will vote for these seats.
