New Delhi: The Election Commission has not lifted the ban on election rallies and rod shows even on Monday. However, some relaxation has been given in the ban on the election campaigns. Now it is allowed to hold public meetings with one thousand people. Apart from this, more people can also join the door to door campaign. The Election Commission has taken this decision on Monday after the Corona epidemic came under some control.

The Election Commission has decided on Monday that now a public meeting of 1000 people can be organized instead of 500. With this, door to door campaigns can now be done with 20 people instead of 10. At the same time, instead of 300, 500 people can attend the meeting to be held in a closed space. In the last meeting, the commission had given permission for rallies for the first and second phases but limited the number to 500.

Due to the Coronavirus crisis, the Election Commission had banned public meetings and rallies till 31 January. Earlier this ban was till 15 January, after that it was extended till 22 January and then further it was pulled till 31 January. In India, 2,09,918 new cases of corona have been registered in the last 24 hours. At the same time, 959 people have died due to corona.
