New Delhi: West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Puducherry and Kerala assembly election dates can be announced today. The Election Commission has called a press conference at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi at 4.30 pm today. It is being told that in this press conference, election dates can be announced in four states and one union territory.
According to Election Commission sources, elections can be held in 6 to 8 phases in West Bengal, while voting can take place in three phases in Assam. The voting is expected to be conducted in a single phase in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Counting of five states will take place on the same day. The process of assembly formation will be done before May 1. Board examinations are going to start from May 4. In view of this, the Election Commission has planned to conduct election programs in five states before May 1.
The Election Commission has made the most visits in these five states (West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala). A team is still on a tour of Bengal. In view of the growing case of Corona in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, the biggest challenge before the Election Commission is to conduct the election. However, the Election Commission said that they have taken all measures keeping in mind the Corona Protocol. Full management of the security forces has been done.
