In Meerut and Mandi, where rookies Arun Govil and Kangana Ranaut are leading, the Bharatiya Janata Party is already reaping the benefits of its decision to field a wide range of young faces for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Actor Ranaut is leading from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi by a similar margin, while Ramayan's star Govil, who is running from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, is ahead of his closest opponent by 40,000 votes.

This year's elections have a wide field of actors running, with seasoned Mathuran Hema Malini—who is running for a third term in the Lok Sabha—beating out her rivals by a wide margin.
According to statistics published on the Election Commission website, actor Suresh Gopi is leading the fight in Kerala by more than 43,000 votes while running on a BJP ticket from Thrissur.

In addition, Shatrughan Sinha, a candidate for the Trinamool Congress, is ahead in his race for the West Bengal seat of Asansol. He's ahead by more than 22,000 votes.
Manoj Tiwari and Ravi Kishan, both BJP members from Northeast Delhi and Gorakhpur, are other players in the fight. In his constituency, Kishan leads Tiwari by more than 22,000 votes, with Tiwari leading by more over 43,000.

According to current trends, the INDIA bloc is in tight second place with 230 seats, behind the NDA, which holds 295 seats. As the opposition bloc lead by the Congress makes substantial gains in the Lok Sabha, it appears that the BJP's grand goals of '400-paar' will not materialise.
