For the pending assembly elections in Manipur, the Congress party is in trying to form a pre-poll alliance with "like-minded" parties.
"A decision on a pre-poll coalition with like-minded parties is expected to be made shortly," said K Meghachandra, working president of the Manipur Congress. Candidates for the polls would be finalised when a pre-poll coalition is formed, according to Meghachandra.
"The list of applicants is still being finalised. "As soon as a pre-poll alliance decision is made, the candidates would be finalised," Manipur Congress leader K Meghachandra said.
Manipur will hold elections on February 27 and March 3 in two stages. In Manipur, 60 Assembly seats will be contested in two stages. In hill districts, 20 of the 60 seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribes.
