Ranchi: In the last 24 hours in Jharkhand's Lohardaga district, 4 people including an elderly person lost their lives in an elephant attack in two separate incidents. Giving information about this, an official of the Forest Department has said that 3 people died in the elephant attack on Monday, while a woman died on Sunday (February 19).

Lohardaga's Divisional Forest Officer Arvind Kumar has informed that 3 people died in the elephant attack on Monday, who have been identified as Lalman Mahato (60), Neha Kumari (18), and Jhalo Oraon (27). Kumar told that after leaving its herd, the elephant entered the village of the district and attacked the people who had gone out for the morning routine, which led to their loss of life. The officer has told that the elephant is currently hiding in the bushes and efforts are being made to control him. The official said that earlier on Sunday evening, a 50-year-old woman was trampled to death by an elephant in the nearby Kudu area.

At the same time, forest guard Kishore Kumar has informed that ''The terror of wild elephants has increased a lot. The elephant is running to kill on seeing people. The police department is trying to drive away the elephant. We have called 2 teams.''
