As of October 4, former U.S. President Barack Obama ranks second with 131.9 million followers. However, some reports indicate that many of Musk's followers may not be genuine, suggesting a significant number of inactive or fake accounts.
Barack Obama, who made history as the first African-American president of the United States, is followed by Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, who has 113.2 million followers. Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber follows closely with 110.3 million, while Barbadian singer and entrepreneur Rihanna boasts 108.4 million followers. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also in the mix with 102.4 million followers.
Growth of the Platform
Recent statistics for X show significant growth in user engagement. From July 1 to September 30, daily user activity increased by 12% year-on-year, totaling 363.6 billion user-seconds. Additionally, the number of monthly active users rose by 2% to 547.9 million, and daily video views surged by 43% to 8.9 billion.
Currently, X has approximately 300 million daily active users (DAUs) and over 600 million monthly active users (MAUs). Elon Musk envisions transforming the platform into an "everything app," allowing users to upload movies and TV shows and facilitate digital money transfers.
