Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, announced on Monday that he would prohibit the use of Apple devices in his companies if Apple integrates OpenAI technology at the operating system level. Musk expressed his concerns in a post on X, labeling the move as a severe security threat.

"Integrating OpenAI at the OS level is an unacceptable security violation," Musk stated. He further added, "Visitors will need to leave their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage," emphasizing the need for stringent security measures.

This statement came shortly after Apple revealed a series of new AI features across its apps and operating systems. Apple also announced a partnership with OpenAI to incorporate ChatGPT technology into its devices. The tech giant assured users that its AI features are designed with privacy as a fundamental principle, utilizing a blend of on-device processing and cloud computing to enhance functionality.

ChatGPT on iPhones: What You Need to Know
It's not clear if Elon Musk fully understood the specifics. According to the details shared by Apple at the WWDC keynote, users of Apple devices will have complete control over using ChatGPT in iOS 18. They can choose to have Siri use ChatGPT for assistance, making it almost like downloading the standalone app but more streamlined.

Additionally, using the free version of ChatGPT-4 within iOS 18 is not much different from using the official app. Paid subscriptions can also be accessed by linking existing accounts. Apple stresses that user privacy is a priority and plans to integrate functions with other AI providers in the future.
