Employment outlook reaches an all-time high of eight years: Report

NEW DELHI: According to the current ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey of 3020 employers, employers are optimistic for the second quarter in a row. 64 percent plan to raise employment levels, 15 percent expect to reduce staffing levels, and 20 percent expect no change, resulting in a seasonally adjusted Net Employment Outlook of +49 percent, the highest in eight years. Hiring attitudes have improved by a massive +43 points when compared to the same period last year, while there has been a 5 percentage point increase when compared to the previous quarter.

Employers in large organisations are the most bullish, with 51 percent planning to hire in the first quarter, compared to 25 percent in small businesses. Employers in the north have the most recruiting plans for the first quarter, followed by those in the south and west.

ManpowerGroup has added four new business sectors to this research, including IT and Technology, Primary Production, Restaurants and Hotels, and Not for Profit, bringing the total number of industry sectors under analysis from seven to eleven.   All eleven industry sectors polled expressed a desire to increase their payrolls. Employers were also polled about vaccination plans and work arrangements by ManpowerGroup. The IT, Technology, Telecom, Communications and Media industry has a hiring forecast of 60 percent, followed by the Restaurants and Hotels sector with a hiring outlook of 56 percent.
