VIZAG: Visakhapatnam played host to a momentous occasion as the Directorate General of Resettlement, the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, and the Ministry of Defence collaborated to organize a noteworthy Employment Job Fair. Held at the HADR Grounds within INS Satavahana on December 17, this initiative aimed to bridge the gap between Ex-Servicemen (ESM) seeking re-employment and potential job providers, as highlighted in an official statement.

The response to the job fair in Visakhapatnam was resoundingly positive, drawing ex-servicemen from Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. Thirty esteemed companies actively participated, with an impressive 1340 ex-servicemen from the Army, Air Force, and Navy registering to explore fresh employment opportunities, as per the statement.

The inauguration of the job fair was graced by Commodore Vivek Hotti, Director Regional Centre ECHS, in the esteemed presence of Srinivasa Raju, Convener CII AP Chapter, Chairman AP Chapter SIDM, and Guest of Honour Brig Rohit Mehta, ADG, DRZ (South).

This event marks just one of five such planned job fairs scheduled to take place across India in the coming months. The aim is to provide a platform for ex-servicemen, who possess a diverse skill set gained through their service, to explore roles ranging from senior supervisors and mid-level managers to strategic planners and project directors.

The job fair served as a mutually beneficial platform for both corporations and veterans. Veterans seized the opportunity to showcase their technical prowess and administrative acumen honed during their years of service. Simultaneously, corporations reaped the rewards of engaging with a group of experienced, disciplined, and well-trained ex-servicemen, streamlining their hiring process with a pool of talented individuals.

Moreover, the job fair didn't merely focus on conventional employment but also highlighted entrepreneurship models presented by various companies, fostering an environment of innovation and self-sufficiency amongst the attendees.
