Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi may have been written off as a ‘serial kisser’ in his initial career, but the actor has been steadily proving his talents in a mess of recent films. Many would remember how Emraan had shocked the world when he decided to star in Dibakar Banerjee’s political thriller film Shanghai in 2012. Emraan’s performance as a streetwise photographer who gets embroiled in an ugly game of misrepresentation and murder in Shanghai was much talked and written about.

Speaking about the film, which marks his first as a producer, Emraan had earlier said, “I’m really excited to turn producer in collaboration with Tony D’Souza, who is an extremely talented filmmaker and a great friend.” Interestingly, actress Malvika Raaj, best remembered as the girl who played the younger version of Kareena Kapoor's character in "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham...", will be returning to Bollywood with Captain Nawab.

Director Tony D'Souza had earlier said in a statement: "We are attempting something new and so it was imperative for us to get the casting right. We were privileged to have met Malvika and have her on board. "We put her through the usual rounds of auditions and she excelled in all of them. She is already well-versed with the business, having done a film as a child artist earlier and hailing from a family which has been in the film industry."
