The status of special state of Jammu and Kashmir which has ended in the midnight of last Wednesday. With which two new union territories J&K and Ladakh are in existence. According to the sources, the decision has been taken after 86 days to eliminate the special status given under Article 370 through Parliament. Where the Home Ministry has extracted information in this regard on Wednesday. In the information that came out late at night, the Jammu and Kashmir division of the ministry has taken several steps to implement the central laws in the state.

According to the information, J&K and the Union Territories of Ladakh will be headed by Lieutenant Governor (LG) respectively, Girish Chandra Murmu and RK Mathur respectively. He will take over on Thursday. This will be the first time that a state will be converted into two union territories. Two different swearing ceremonies will be held in Srinagar and Leh on this issue. The first ceremony will be held in Leh where Mathur will take oath, later in Srinagar there will be an oath taking ceremony in which Murmu will take charge. It is being said that J&K High Court Chief Justice Geeta Mittal will administer oaths to both Murmu and Mathur. With this, the number of states in the country has gone up to 28 and the number of union territories has increased to nine.

The J&K Constitution and Ranbir Penal Code will cease to exist on Thursday when the nation celebrates 'National Unity Day' to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Patel will have the credit for merging more than 560 states into the Union of India. The J&K Reorganization Act, 2019 states that the day of formation of two union territories is 31 October and it will come into existence on midnight (Wednesday-Thursday). The annulment and division of the special status of the state was announced in the Rajya Sabha on August 5.J&K will be an assembly like Pondicherry, because Ladakh is a center without assembly along the lines of Chandigarh.
