Energy sector plays a big role in, the state in the third position in SGD index

The energy sector has played an important role in taking the state to the third position in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) index. In the field of energy and renewable energy, the State has secured 100% marks. Energy Secretary Radhika Jha said the government is moving towards developing the state as a green state by generating clean energy. The Energy Secretary said that energy and renewable energy were ranked 11th in the SDG index last year with 78 points. First class has been obtained only after one year. NITI Aayog also provides clean energy for electrification and cooking of two main indicator houses in the region.

In the last four years, the state has been moving towards solar energy in the form of green energy. Power generation from Pirul (pine leaves) is being encouraged with setting up of about 250 MW solar power projects. He said that projects up to 5 MW in hilly areas have been reserved for permanent citizens of the State and projects of 203 MW capacity have been allotted. The Secretary attributed 100% electrification in the State and achievements in renewable energy sector to the officers and employees of Energy Corporations and Oreda. He said the department will continue its efforts to maintain the best in future.

Governor provides 200 foodgrains kits: It is learnt that Governor Baby Rani Maurya is providing 200 foodgrains kits for the needy. He handed over the kit to seva bharati volunteers. Governor Baby Rani Maurya on Saturday sent vehicles full of foodgrains kits from Raj Bhavan for distribution. The kit contains ingredients like pulses, oil, soap, sugar and sanitary napkins etc. Governor Baby Rani Maurya said that the foodgrains will be transported to the people suffering from livelihood crisis and unemployment due to corona epidemic. This ration kit is going to be distributed to eligible persons through volunteers.
