New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has found evidence of hawala transactions between the entities related to it in the National Herald case. According to ED sources, Young India may take major action in the ED National Herald case after completing the searches on the premises. With this, the ED will now re-examine the statements of Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. In a major action on Wednesday, the investigating agency sealed the Young India Limited office of the National Herald office.
ED sources said the investigating agency has found evidence of hawala transactions between third parties and entities related to the National Herald. After the completion of checking at young Indian premises, now the ED national herald can take major action in the case. According to a media report, ED sources have informed that during the searches, the investigating agency recovered documentary evidence from the Office of Young India Limited, which shows hawala transactions with hawala operators in Mumbai and Kolkata.
ED sources also said that the investigating agency is re-examining the statements of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. That's because the investigating agency does not agree with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul's claim that all financial decisions regarding AJL and Young Indian were taken by Motilal Vora. At the same time, ED does not agree with Sonia and Rahul Gandhi's explanation that they did not receive monetary benefits from Young Indian as an Act firm of its Section 25 company.
