The birthday of M Vishvesvaraya, the great engineer of India, is celebrated every year as Engineers Day. He had a significant contribution in the field of engineering. This can be gauged from the fact that M. Visvesvaraya was awarded India's highest honour Bharat Ratna in the year 1955 for his invaluable contribution. Today, with his struggle and hard work, he has put the country in a different place. He has been the brain behind the dams, bridges.

The nation remembers the great Visvesvaraya as the design and success of Jayanagar in southern Bangalore. Jayanagar is also named among the best-planned layouts of Asia and it was designed by Vishveshvaraya.

Today, India is showing a mirror to the whole world in the field of IT and the number of IT Engineers in India is also very high. 20 lakh engineers are produced in India every year. This include engineers from all fields of computer science, electronics, civil and mechanical. However, the problem of unemployment is a major problem for engineers.

According to a report, about eight lakh students in India who study engineering in technical education institutes and 60 percent of them do not get a job. 66 percent of IIT graduates could not get campus placements in the 2016-17 season, compared to 79 percent of students in 2015.
