Colombo: The first Test between Sri Lanka and England has begun from Thursday. The first day's game was named after england bowlers and they gave the Sri Lankan batsmen cheaply in the first innings. The dangerous bowling of England bowlers can be gauged from the fact that Sri Lankan batsman Angelo Mathews's bat was divided into two pieces on a fast-paced ball of Mark Wood.
In fact, the incident took place in the 10th over of Sri Lanka's first innings. In the overs, England's pacer Mark Wood threw the ball at a speed of 91 miles (145 kilometres) per hour, which Mathews wanted to stop with his bat, but the speed of the ball was so much that he made two pieces of the bat. However, Mathews lost his wicket and left the hair. Mathews scored 27 in 54 balls to bat in the fourth place after falling three wickets on Sri Lanka's 25-run score.
He also shared 56 runs for the fourth wicket with Captain Dinesh Chandimal. The 33-year-old Mathews also made a record during his short innings. He became sri Lanka's fifth Battan to complete 6000 test runs. In this case, he has more runs than former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara (12400), Mahila Jayawardene (11814), Sanath Jayasanya (6973) and Arvind DeSilva (6361).
