New Delhi: The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League had to be stopped midway due to the second wave of corona epidemic in India. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is trying its best to complete IPL 2021. Recently, it was reported that BCCI has appealed to the England and Wales Cricket Board to start the series between India and England a week ahead of schedule to host the rest of the 2021 IPL. But now the England Board has given a big update on this issue.

In fact, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has said it has not received any request from the BCCI to pursue the five-match Test series to create a window to complete the postponed IPL. However, a report published in cricket website Cricinfo yesterday, i.e. Thursday, said that BCCI had approached ECB to start the Test series a week ago to provide the September window for the conduct of the rest of the IPL 2021 matches.

"We regularly talk to BCCI on a number of issues," the ECB spokesman said. Especially when we are addressing the challenges of the corona epidemic, dialogue continues. But there is no official request from the BCCI to change the dates yet.
