England is set to recall Jos Buttler as an expert batsman in their team for the third Test against India in Mohali with Ben Duckett confronting the hatchet after his battles against off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the initial two matches.
The left-handed Duckett scored 56 in the second innings against Bangladesh in Dhaka yet has gathered only 54 keeps running in six innings since.
Ashwin, the world's top-positioned bowler, rejected him three times in Rajkot and Visakhapatnam and the 22-year-old seems to have specialized defects with all due respect against spinners.
"I believe he has an exceptional ability," England coach Trevor Bayliss said after the side lost by 246 keeps running on Monday to go 1-0 down in the arrangement.
"Whether he plays the following match or not, I think he'll play significantly more for England.
Both captain Alastair Cook and mentor Trevor Bayliss anticipate that he will play more for England later on, and positively in the one-day side one year from now, yet maybe this task came excessively soon.
