England Test captain Joe Root has said that Moeen Ali's retirement from Test cricket is a big loss for the team for various reasons. Moeen had announced his retirement from Test cricket on Monday. Moeen, who made his Test debut in 2014, has scored 2914 runs in 64 Tests for England. Root has said that 'Moeen's career shows in itself what he has achieved. He has done very well in Test cricket. He is said to be one of the great sages who play together. I enjoyed sharing the dressing room with them We have a lot of wonderful memories off the field.'

He has also said that 'when I will resign as captain, there are many things that I will look back on. One thing I would say is that Moeen has presented himself very brilliantly. The special moment he has on the cricket field in the format of a Test match is extraordinary. I am definitely going to remember a lot of amazing things which are extremely amazing. Of course, there were times when we could have done things a little differently.''

Continuing, Root said, "I spoke to him last week. But his retirement is a big problem for the team for various reasons. But I wish him all the best for the rest of his career. I hope there are still many crickets left which I can play with him in ODIs.''
