England beat Brazil 4-2 in the penalty shoot-out in a thrilling match to win the first-ever FIFA Women's World Cup. England has not lost in the last 30 matches. Chloe Kelly's goal in the shootout saw England crowned champions as some 83,132 fans celebrated at Wembley Stadium here.

Chloe also scored in the Euro 2022 final at Wembley last year. England goalkeeper Mary Earps also appeared to contribute to the team's victory by saving a penalty in the middle of the shootout. Ella Toon of England gave the team an early lead in the 23rd minute and took a 1-0 lead in the first half.

Then in the second half, it seemed that the hosts would win the title with this score, when Andressa Alaves, the Brazilian substitute, scored a goal in injury time (the 90+3rd minute) to equalise the match. Extra time was used to decide the result of the match.
