New Delhi: According to the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), about 6.55 lakh new people have got jobs in the organized sector in the month of June. These figures show the employment situation in the organized sector in the current era of coronavirus crisis. According to EPFO, new registrations have increased to 6.55 lakhs in June, while in May it was 1.72 lakhs.

Pure data means that those who left the job were removed from it. Those who joined again were added to it. The EPFO also said that this estimate may include temporary employees, who may contribute, may not continue for the entire year. The total number of shareholders related to the Employees Provident Fund Organization is more than six crores. These latest figures based on the regular pay register of EPFO ie 'payroll', have got information about this.

According to EPFO data released in May, the number of new registrations had come down to 5.72 lakh in March 2020, from 10.21 lakh in February. According to the latest data released by the EPFO on Thursday, the new registrations in April stood at just 20,164, while in the provisional figures released in July, this number was one lakh.
