NEW DELHI: Norwegian striker, Erling Haaland, will miss his country’s Euro 2024 qualifiers against Spain and Georgia after picking up a groin injury in Manchester City’s FA Cup quarter-final win over Burnley.

After a groyne injury, forward Erling Haaland withdrew from the Norway squad for their Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Spain and Georgia, the nation's football organisation announced on Tuesday. After scoring a hat-trick in Manchester City's 6-0 demolition of Burnley in the FA Cup quarterfinal on Saturday, the striker suffered a groyne injury.

"We had thought that this was merely a familiarity that would last till Saturday, but after yesterday's tests and examinations, it is now obvious that he won't be able to play in the matches against Spain and Georgia.

It is preferable that he receive medical attention at the club, according to Ola Sand, the doctor for Norway's national team. Group A included Norway, Cyprus, Georgia, Scotland, and Spain. On March 26 at the La Rosaleda Stadium, Stale Solbakken's team takes on Spain for the first time. On March 28, they will play Georgia at Adjarabet Arena. Since making his Norway debut in September 2019, the 22-year-old forward has scored 21 goals in 23 games.
