India has been warned of a drastic reduction in rain during the monsoon this year. According to an American agency, northern and central India may receive very less rainfall than normal. This research of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has shared on Friday. It has predicted a significant decrease in 'Monsoon Low-Pressure Mechanism (MLPS)' in the South Asian monsoon region. The monsoon low-pressure system is the main reason for rain in the Indian subcontinent.

In North and Central India, the same factor is more than half of the annual rainfall. Research says that the monsoon can be any reason for a change in the low-pressure system. It can also be caused by natural, and also man-made. Whatever the reason, its socio-economic effects can be profound. So far, little research has been done on the change in 'monsoon low-pressure system' in South Asia, and no final conclusions are yet to be reached.

Earlier Indian weather department had predicted normal monsoon this year. In the past, (IMD) had said that so far this monsoon has rained 6% more than normal. According to the Meteorological Department, there has been less rainfall in some areas of North India. So far, 17% more rainfall has been recorded in the South Peninsula region. This part includes Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Of these, there has been a lot of rain in Andhra Pradesh and more in Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
