In such a situation, the Congress has surrounded the Modi government on the visit of EU MPs to Kashmir and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi Tweeted, "MPs from Europe are welcome to go on a guided tour of Jammu and Kashmir while Indian MPs are banned and denied entry. There is something very wrong with that."

Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that, "Allowing European Union MPs to visit Jammu and Kashmir is a major attack on the sovereignty of the country." Instead of European Union MPs, a delegation led by former Congress President Rahul Gandhi should be allowed to go to Kashmir.
