Recently, in an interview, movie producer Sunil Darshan claimed that there was a time when no one was ready to work with Akshay. In the 1990s, Sunil decided to bet on Akshay for the movie Jaanwar.

In a conversation with the media, Sunil said that Akshay is very punctual, which impressed him a lot. But there was a drawback. He claimed, "There was a problem. During that time, many of his movies flopped and many of his big movies were stopped midway. Like Hera Pheri, the movie was 90 percent shot and then it was stopped. Four reels of Dhadak were made, but that too was stopped."

Sunil has said that at this time he felt that there is something special in Akshay. He continued his talk and said, "I signed Akshay and I told him that the work will be done only on my terms." After which Sunil decided to cast Karisma Kapoor in the movie, but he had to tell her that he was busy casting her opposite Akshay.

Sunil said, "I told Karishma that there are going to be two problems. The news says that one is that I will not be able to pay you as much as you get from others. And the second thing is that Akshay is a hero. He also said that there is no problem, your company is our company. His mother Babita also said that we are going to like working with you."
