Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, the culprit in the case related to the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar, pleaded in a Delhi court on Tuesday pleading for acquittal that the evidence showed that Pushkar's death was neither a suicide nor a murder. Senior advocate Vikas Pahwa, representing Shashi Tharoor, said that not a single criminal has accused dowry, harassment, or cruelty against his client.

It has been learned that during the presentation of arguments for framing of charges in the case, it was submitted before the special judge Gitanjali Goyal that the court has fixed the date of March 26 for further hearing of the case, Pushkar January 17. His dead body was found in a city hotel on the night of 2014.

The post-mortem proved that there was no suicide: Pahwa said that the post-mortem and other medical reports allegedly establish that it was neither a suicide nor a murder and he continued, saying, 'Charges framed against Tharoor There is no basis to do that 'Pahwa had earlier said that there is no evidence to prove an offense punishable under Section 498A or 306 of IPC against Tharoor. Pahwa had said that Pushkar's death should be treated as accidental. He has been charged under sections 498A and 306 of the Indian Penal Code but has not been taken into custody in the case. He was granted bail on July 5, 2018.
