New Delhi: The Expert Committee on corona pandemic has warned that 15,000 cases of corona can be reported daily during the winter season. So far, Delhi has registered the highest 4,473 cases in a day, which came on September 16. In winter, about four times the cases will come every day.

According to the panel, respiratory problems increase in the winter months. Festivals are also a major reason behind the possible data. The panel led by Dr. V. K. Paul said that Delhi should prepare for 15,000 cases every day in winter. According to him, the number of patients outside Delhi may also increase. The COVID panel has suggested to the Delhi government to prepare to admit 20% of the 15,000 cases every day.

The panel led by Dr. Paul has submitted its report to the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on this Tuesday. In the festive season, the panel has been barred from doing major celebrations. The report says, "It has been observed that the infection was rapidly spreading due to Ganesh Chaturthi in Maharashtra and Onam in Kerala. It should not be allowed in Delhi."
