India's agricultural exports reached USD 40.87 billion in the first ten months of this fiscal year, rising 25.14 percent from the previous year, said by Union Minister of State for Commerce Anupriya Singh Patel, who addressed in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
Exports of some other main agricultural products, such as wheat, sugar, and cotton, have increased significantly this year, according to Patel. "From April 2021 to January 2022 of the current fiscal year, agricultural product exports totaled USD 40.87 billion, up 25.14 percent from USD 32.66 billion the previous year," she stated during Question Hour.
Exports of some of the important goods, including as rice, other cereals, coffee cereal preparations, meat, dairy and poultry products, and marine products, would accomplish or come close to achieving the targets for 2021-22, the Minister said adding thatan increase in agricultural exports enhances farmers' realisations and increases their income.
The government has developed a Farmer Connect Portal to provide a forum for Farmer Producer Organizations Companies and cooperatives to directly communicate with exporters, she said, in order to ensure that farmers benefit from exports.
