Special Investigation Team expires on Visakhapatnam land scam

The government has extended the deadline of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the land scams in Visakhapatnam and surrounding areas till 28th of next month. On November 17, 2019, the government set up a SIT to investigate the allegations of tampering with land records in the district, the government land sacked and the records disappeared. The order states that the report should be given in three months.

Last year, on February 12, the SIT extended the deadline by another three months. The SIT chairman reported to the government that the corona and lockdown had been working until March 15 last year and then started working since June 10 last year. The SIT chairman appealed to the government to give some more time to examine the remaining records and report. CS Adityanath Das ordered the extension of the sit tenure on Friday.
