Fans of the action thriller movie Extraction were eagerly awaiting the release of the sequel because the first film was such a huge success when it was released in April 2020. For fans of suspense and adventure, the wait is finally over because the sequel will be released this month.

Over 90 million households watched Extraction over the first month of its release, making it one of the most streamed Netflix originals during its opening week. The sequel, which is about to debut, was made possible by the movie's popularity and success. Extraction 2, the sequel, debuts on Netflix on June 16, 2023. It is based on the graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Fernando León González, and Eric Skillman and was directed by Sam Hargrave. The movie duology's producers are the Russo brothers.

The description of the sequel reads, "Back from the brink of death, highly skilled commando Tyler Rake takes on another dangerous mission: saving the imprisoned family of a ruthless gangster." Tyler has returned for his next mission after recovering from a near-fatal accident brought on by his mission in Dhaka. He is tasked with freeing the family of a Georgian gangster from custody.

The cast has expanded despite the return of Chris Hemsworth, Golshifteh Farahani, and Adam Bessa as Tyler Rake, Nik Kahn, and Yaz Kahn. The newest actors in the cast include Olga Kurylenko as Mia, Daniel Bernhardt as Konstantine, Tinatin Dalakishvili as Ketevan, and Idris Elba in an unspecified part. Elba's character offers Tyler a perilous and nearly impossible job towards the beginning of the movie's plot.
