MUMBAI: Niharika Chouksey, an actress from "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai," is currently a member of the show "Faltu," which strives to raise awareness about gender equality.

Niharika recently came across a video of a Mumbai-based girl named Nirasha on social media. Because her parents were determined to produce a boy kid, she was given this name. The actor discusses the parallels between this girl's situation and those of numerous other girls in society.

She claims: "Today, I stumbled upon a video of a young child whose parents had given her the name Nirasha. The fact that this still occurs in our society made me feel very sorry. This is precisely the theme of our newest television programme, "Faltu." In an effort to raise awareness of gender equality and to reassure the girls that they are not alone and that anything is possible, we are working with them." She continues, "I'm pleased to play a realistic role,"

"We are depicting a tale very similar to Nirasha's in our new programme, and I am quite appreciative of the chance to portray a character who represents something very real and relevant that many girls can identify with. All I want is for our society to improve for the better "Finally, she says.
