London: According to The Metro, the family of a woman who vanished in the UK seven years ago has renewed its appeal for information.

Fatima Mohamed-Ali, who was 52 in 2016, was last seen in her Sussex neighbourhood, where surveillance video shows her leaving her house at around 8 a.m. to walk down a nearby street.

Before she turns 60, Mohamed-Ali's family, headed by her husband Mohamed, is collaborating with the organisation Missing People to intensify search efforts.

Since her disappearance, the mother-of-three's family has had faith that Mohamed-Ali will be located; a potential sighting in 2018 gives them hope.

A mysterious woman who was seen on CCTV chasing after a bus in the neighbourhood of Brighton in 2018 seemed to match Mohamed-Ali based on the description, which included 5 feet 2 inches, slim, brown eyes, and likely wearing traditional Indian clothing.

The potential sighting, however, had no further impact on the case.

Two years ago, husband Mohamed participated in a podcast to talk about his wife's case, including the possibility of suicide, which he characterised as unlikely because it would be "out of character" for Mohamed-Ali.

Nevertheless, he remarked, "If that's the case, then I'll have to accept it."

He continued, "If you have seen Fatima or know where Fatima is, please let us know. We lost a good wife, mother, and grandmother. Please assist us if there is anyone out there.

Additionally, he sent his wife a personal message in which he said, "We miss you and wish you a happy 60th birthday wherever [you] are."
