One of the renowned actors in the Punjabi Industry Daljeet Kaur passes away after a prolonged illness at the age of 69. Daljeet had been diagnosed with a neurological problem and had shifted to Ludhiana from Mumbai around 12 years ago. She breathed her last on Thursday in Raikot, Punjab.
Daljeet Kaur popularly known as 'Hema Malini' of the Punjabi film industry. She was living with her cousin Harjinder Singh Khangura in Ludhiana’s Gurusar Sudhar area for the past few years. According to family members, was in a deep coma for the last one year. The exact cause of Daljeet Kaur's demise is not known yet.
As soon as this news catches eyes of people several people started paying tribute to the veteran actress. Singer Mika Singh tweeted, "The beautiful Actress, Legend of Punjab #Daljeetkaur has sadly left us with her beautiful memories. May god bless her soul and she rest in eternal peace." Actor Satish Shah wrote, "A dear friend and batchmate Daljeet Kaur the punjabi lead girl of yesteryears passed away on 17th this month. May her soul find eternal peace. FTII 1976 batch.".
Daljeet Kaur was known to play the lead in several superhit Punjabi films and in 2013, Daljeet essayed Gippy Grewal's mom in Singh VS Kaur. Daljeet Kaur had acted in 10 Hindi and 70 Punjabi movies, including ‘Putt Jattan De’ (1983), ‘Mamla Garbar Hai’ (1983), ‘Ki Banu Duniya Da’ (1986), ‘Patola’ (1988) and ‘Saida Jogan’ (1979) and several other films like 'Daaj', 'Giddha', , 'Roop Shaqinan Da', 'Ishaq Nimana', 'Laajo', 'Batwara', 'Vairee Jatt', 'Patola', and Jagga Daku among others. She was also a hockey and kabaddi player.
