Football fans in the city will be allowed to enter the stadium to watch the match from 10 July following the order of Marcello Crivella, Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. According to the order, the stadiums will have a capacity of not more than one-third and there will be an audience inside every four square meters. In addition, clubs are allowed to use all their training facilities except for the sauna, swimming pool and hot tub. .
The state competition of Rio de Janeiro will begin on June 18. The championship was postponed for almost three months due to a coronavirus epidemic. Earlier, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) had said that Brazil's Serie-A championship would begin in August. The league is yet to get approval from state and health officials. The CBF president and club representatives have set a temporary date of August 9 to start the country's top league. Serie-A was scheduled to begin in May, but was halted due to a coronavirus pandemic. Serie-B is scheduled to begin on August 8.
According to a statement, this decision was taken in a meeting organized by CBF on Thursday night. 40 clubs attended the meeting.
