Bollywood Veteran actress Sridevi's sudden death due to a cardiac arrest has left her fans and the Indian film industry grieving, including actor Farhan Akhtar. Earlier this morning, Farhan Akhtar shared a nostalgic post on Instagram and remembered his first job, which was in Sridevi's Lamhe (1990). He also posted a still from her acclaimed film 'Lamhe' and wrote, "My first job in 1990 was on Lamhe and this song Megha Re Megha was the very first time I saw this legendary actor create her incredible magic on screen. From Sadma to Chaal baaz, from Mr India to Chandni, it was impossible to take your eyes off her when she appeared on screen. A true star. A gifted actor. A woman with tremendous dignity. Gone too soon. RIP Sridevi. Sad sad day." Sridevi died on Saturday in Dubai, where she was attending the wedding of actor Mohit Marwah and Antara Motiwala.

Veteran Bollywood actor and Padma Shri awardee Sridevi, who had an illustrious career spanning over four decades, passed away. She was 54. Sridevi, died late in the night reportedly due to cardiac arrest in Dubai, where she had gone along with her family to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding. Confirming the news, a source close to the family said, "Yes it's true. She was in Dubai while some of the other family members came back to India. We hear it's cardiac arrest."

Legendary actress Sridevi breathed her last on Saturday at around midnight in Dubai due to cardiac arrest. She was 54. News of her untimely death has come across as a rude shock; fans, well-wishers and industry colleagues are extremely saddened by the news of her passing away. Sridevi, who began her acting career as a child artiste in 1969 devotional Tamil film Thunaivan made her debut in Hindi cinema with Lakshmi starrer Julie in 1975 but it was Solva Sawan in 1979, a remake of 16 Vayathinile (1977) that marked her first Hindi film as the lead actress.
