Even as ambiguity looms over their planned tractor rally on the Republic Day, farmer unions protesting against the new agricultural laws have said their preparations are in full gear and authorities should facilitate the "peaceful march", instead of stopping it.

the Supreme Court stated today that a panel formed to negotiate with farmers protesting close to Delhi borders against the 3 contentious agricultural laws amid deadlock with centre has no energy to choose,

The leading court also asked the government to respond to a petition looking for reconstitution of its committee. Protesters and many opposition parties like the Akali Dal had raised objections saying the 4 members of the panel had earlier expressed views in favour of the controversial legislations.

One of the members namely Bhartiya Kisan Union President Bhupinder Singh Mann, the final week had recused himself from the committee, farmers body the Kisan Mahapanchayat – stated today through the hearing.

”We have appointed experts in the committee as we are not experts. You are casting aspersions on someone in the committee because he has expressed views on farm laws?” the leading court asked.”They are the brilliant minds in the agricultural field. How can you malign them?” Chief Justice SA Bobde stated today through the hearing.
