New Delhi: Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said on Friday that the next meeting with the government and farmers' unions is expected to yield positive results on January 4. However, he did not say anything about whether the seventh round of talks would be final or it would continue. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said, 'I hope that whatever decision will be made will be in the interest of the country and the farmer.'

Asked Tomar whether the meeting to be held on January 4 would be final? He said that I cannot say anything right now. I am not a prophet, but I hope that whatever decision is taken will be in the interest of the country and the farmers' organizations. Till now six rounds of talks have been held between the government and the farmers 'organizations, but the farmers' demonstrations have not ended.

At the last meeting held on December 30, two demands to keep stubble burning out of the category of crime and continue power subsidy have been agreed. Two other demands of the farmers' organizations have not been discussed yet. These demands include repealing all three agricultural laws and providing legal guarantees of the MSP procurement system.
