Government approves scheme to improve economic health of farmers

New Delhi: The Modi government at the Centre is giving a green signal to various schemes to increase farmers' income. These schemes have a major focus on dairy processing. More than two dozen projects have been sanctioned in seven states at a cost of about four thousand crore rupees. Effective initiatives have also been taken to increase milk productivity with processing. Special incentives will be given to the cooperative sector along with the private sector for the development of the dairy sector.

26 projects have been sanctioned for seven states under dairy infrastructure development fund to improve the quality of milk processing and its products. The total cost of these projects will be around four thousand crore rupees. Special efforts are being made to promote milk processing in organized sectors. There is a dire need of quality to increase the export of dairy products for which dairy plants and advanced laboratories are being set up.

Modern dairy plants are required to be set up for pure milk and its products. Every effort is being made for quality to gain access to the international market. The government has launched a number of development schemes to increase milk productivity, improve milk quality and make its products better and international. It gives special attention to the cooperative societies at the district and state level. The government aims to double farmers' income by 2022.
