New Delhi: Punjab Kisan Union President Ruldu Singh Mansa was forced to criticize Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale or Khalistan movement during his speech at the Kisan Andolan. On July 25, 2021, the United Kisan Morcha took action against Ruldu Singh Mansa and suspended him for 15 days.
Mansa had accused Gurupatwant Singh Pannu, head of the banned Khalistani organization Sikh for Justice, of brainwashing Sikh youth during his speech. In fact, Mansa's statement was objected to by 32 Sikh organizations in Punjab, following which action has been taken against Mansa. Mansa was accused of hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community. Union leader Harinder Singh Lakhoval led a meeting of 32 Sikh groups and Jagjit Singh Dallewal led the United Kisan Morcha meeting. Talking to media at the Kundli border, Dallewal said that Mansa's speech from the United Kisan Morcha forum has hurt the sentiments of Sikhs and is against the policies of our organization. Lakhoval had termed Ruldu Singh's speech as against Sikhs and sacrifices. Mansa has since been banned from making any statement from any forum for 15 days.
According to media reports, Ruldu Singh Mansa addressed the protesting farmers on July 21, 2021. He had also made a statement on the infiltration of Khalistani forces in the protests. Although he did not directly name the Jarnail or Khalistan movement, his speech was clearly against the Khalistanis.
