A review meeting on the functions and activities of the Planning and Development Department was held today at the Chennai General Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister MK Stalin. Cooperatives Minister I. Periyasamy, Finance and Human Resource Management Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan, State Development Policy Committee Deputy Chairman Prof. J. Speaking at the meeting, the Chief Minister advised that all the poor, simple and middle class people in the state should make proper plans to improve their livelihoods, benefit the farmers and thrive in industrial development and monitor their performance. He noted that the government should implement the projects with foresight so that the financial allocations reach the maximum number of people. Chief Stalin stressed that the visionary plans for the progress of the state should be defined once in ten years and designed to adapt to real-time changes that occur every five years.
