There is a ruckus in the entire country due to the Corona period. Every work of the country was stalled. After the lock-down opened, now the residue of straw and other crops can be purchased in the areas of Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar etc. through the National Cooperative Development Project. This procurement project can be used to make fodder, besides burning the remaining part of the crop in these two districts will be curbed. Through this National Cooperative Development Project, maize can now be used to make cattle feed. In order to mix green fodder, paddy, wheat, etc. can be procured directly from the farmers. There can be two straight benefits from this purchase through the scheme. After harvesting, the remaining part will be used for fodder for animals. The environment can also be saved due to this project. Every year the remaining part of the crop can also be saved from the pollution caused by burning.

10 thousand metric tons can be purchased in the first phase in October-November. The price for the purchase is yet to be determined and the officials believe that the purchase should be at the same rate that will directly benefit the farmers. The purchase volume can be increased as silage production and demand increase. Every year 50 thousand metric tons of paddy is burnt. Only Udham Singh Nagar has more than three lakh metric tonnes of paddy. It is being told that a part of it is burnt to prepare the fields for the next coming crop. Dairy Director Jaideep Arora has informed that it has come out from the use done locally. Besides, 20 thousand metric tons of animal feed will be produced.

The production of two and a half thousand metric tons is hardly possible. The demand for fodder has been stated to be around 12 thousand metric tons. Straw and other stalks can be used in TMR or animal feed for up to 15%. Like Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand also burns the remaining parts of the paddy crop in the last month of the year. The field is prepared for another crop within 10 to 15 days. The NGT has also banned the burning of stub of this straw and other crops. Even after this, people do not believe and keep doing this work. During October and November, Delhi and nearby areas are highly polluted.
