Fatal Collision on Maharashtra's Samruddhi Expressway: 12 Dead and 23 Injured

Mumbai: A tragic road accident has been reported on the Samruddhi Expressway in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, resulting in the loss of at least 12 lives and leaving 23 others injured. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday when a high-speed mini-bus collided with a container. The private bus was reportedly carrying a total of 35 passengers.

The dreadful incident transpired around 12:30 am in the Vaijapur area, approximately 350 km from Mumbai, as the bus driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to a collision with the container from the rear.

Among the victims, there were five men, six women, and a minor girl. Reports indicate that the injured have been taken to a government hospital for medical treatment. Further details on the accident are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.

Fatal Accident Claims Teacher's Life in Shimla

In a separate incident, a school teacher tragically lost his life, and three others sustained injuries when their vehicle plunged into a gorge in the Rohru subdivision on Friday evening. The accident occurred in the Rohal area as the school staff was on their way home. The driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the fall into the gorge.

The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Hans Raj, a resident of Chidgaon, who worked as a Hindi teacher at Rohal government school. Medical professionals pronounced Raj dead at a hospital.

An autopsy on the deceased's body is currently underway, and a case has been registered in connection with the incident. The injured individuals are receiving medical treatment at a healthcare facility, while further investigations are in progress.
