Islamabad: The FATF said on Monday, 17 February 2020, that despite its strictness, many terrorist groups are getting financial support from their supporters. Apart from this, terrorist groups are also raising money from illegal activities. It has also been noted that India has said that Pakistan is continuously providing support to terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Muhammad and Hizbul Mujahideen, so the FATF should take action against Islamabad.

According to the information received, a full meeting of the FATF is taking place in Paris, which will run for a week. Where the fate of Pakistan is to be decided whether it will remain in the gray list or go to the black list. On the other hand, to get out of the gray list, Pakistan will need 12 votes out of 39, while to avoid going on the black list, it needs the support of three countries. In the meeting held last year, it had the support of China, the then chairman of FATF, along with Malaysia and Turkey, which prevented it from going on the blacklist.

It has been learned that without naming Pakistan, the FATF has said in a statement that terrorists are using various mediums to raise money. Through social media, they are trapping new supporters and taking money and other help from them. People giving humanitarian aid are also falling prey to terrorists. At the same time, the organization has said that it is monitoring the financial assistance given to the terrorists and helping the administration in identifying the financial aid.
