In a recent incident in Rajgarh, on January 22, 2024, two young men embarking on a cycling pilgrimage from Gujarat to Ayodhya were threatened by a Muslim father and son duo. The threat, involving the use of explosives, was captured on video by one of the cyclists, leading to the subsequent arrest of the perpetrators.

The two cyclists, identified as Neel Patel and Dev Patel, were on a journey to witness the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram at the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, set to take place on the same day. The incident occurred in the Sarangpur district of Madhya Pradesh, where the duo had attracted attention from locals who inquired about their destination. Upon revealing their plan to visit Ayodhya, the father-son pair, Asgar Khan and his son, confronted them with a threat to bomb the devotees on their way.

Upon receiving the threat, one of the cyclists, Dev Patel, recorded a video documenting the encounter. The video captures Asgar Khan repeatedly questioning their destination and ultimately threatening, "Go ahead, we will not let you reach there. Ram devotees will be bombed." The cyclists, feeling threatened, promptly reported the incident to nearby Hindu organizations, who were awaiting their arrival to assist with any challenges on the way.

The local police took swift action upon receiving the complaint. Both Asgar Khan and his son were arrested, and a First Information Report (FIR) was filed against them. The incident highlights the commitment of law enforcement and local communities to ensure the safety of individuals exercising their right to religious pilgrimage.

Mukesh Dubey, the co-coordinator of the local Hindu Jagran Manch, was present on the highway anticipating the arrival of the cyclists. When informed about the incident, he, along with others, accompanied the cyclists to the police station to facilitate the filing of the FIR.

The incident serves as a testament to the importance of safeguarding religious freedom and ensuring the security of individuals undertaking sacred journeys. The swift response from authorities and local communities reflects a collective commitment to upholding the values of peace and harmony.
