In a horrifying incident, a father brutally murder his 21-year-old son and mutilated his body and disposed of the parts in different areas in Ahmedabad. The father chopped his son's body into six pieces and threw it in different areas of Ahmedabad. However, the crime branch successfully solved the filicide case and arrested the accused within days of the crime.
On July 20, a part of the body, chest and stomach, was found in the Vasana area of Ahmedabad. Two days later, two legs were found in a nearby area. Vasana police registered an FIR under sections of murder and destruction of evidence and made teams to investigate the matter.
Ahmedabad crime branch, under the leadership of DCP Chaitanya Mandalik, started parallel investigations. Cops matched the body parts and both legs which were found to be belonging to a single person. The deceased was found to be 21-year-old Swayam Joshi. The police suspected Swayam's father Nilesh of the murder as the police were not able to contact him after the crime.
Based on technical and ground intelligence, cops managed to nab Nilesh as he was about to escape to Gorakhpur and from there to Nepal. He was planning to take Awadh express train from Surat.
Nilesh told police officials that his son Swayam was a drug and alcohol addict. On July 18, Nilesh and his deceased son Swayam had a fight over money. Swayam wanted money for alcohol, which Nilesh refused to give leading to a fight breaking out between the two resulting in Nilesh hitting Swayam with a kitchen stone.
Nilesh later went to the Kalupur area and brought an electric grinder and black plastic bags. He took his son Swayam's body to the bathroom and with the help of an electric grinder, he cut it into 6 pieces. Later, using his Activa bike, he threw the body parts in different areas of Ahmedabad.
Nilesh told police that it was due to his son's addiction and habit of fighting regularly, that he was forced to commit the murder. Further investigations are underway in the matter. Few body parts are yet to be recovered.
