Three more accused were arrested on Saturday in connection with the murder of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Surendra Singh in Gurugram, Haryana. So far, a total of six people have been arrested in this case. A new twist came in the case when the lawyer of accused Ikkar said that he is mentally unable. Meanwhile, Ikkar's lawyer submitted a disability certificate to the Nuh police, claiming that the accused was mentally challenged and had nothing to do with the case.
Ikkar's lawyer Imran Khan said, “Whoever sees Ikkar from the front will immediately understand that he is insane. We have handed over his disability certificate to the Nuh police. We are waiting for the response of the police, if we do not get a reply, we will approach the Human Rights Commission.”

Ikkar was arrested on the same day of the incident. Ikkar was a co-driver in the same truck that had crushed the DSP. According to officials, Bhuru alias Taufeeq and Asru alias Asruddin, residents of Pachgaon in Haryana and Lambu alias Yusuf, residents of Gandwa village in Alwar district in Rajasthan were arrested on Saturday. According to officials, the three accused were produced before a court in Nuh, Haryana, which remanded them to two-day police custody.
Nuh Superintendent of Police Varun Singla said, “Our Crime Branch Nuh team arrested three more accused today. So far six accused have been arrested and all of them are in our custody. They are being questioned and raids are being conducted to nab the other accused in the case. DSP Singh, who was probing illegal stone mining in Haryana's Nuh district, was crushed by a truck on July 19 when he signalled to the driver to stop.
The DSP of Tawadu had signalled a dumper (truck) to stop to check the documents, but the driver crushed them while increasing the speed of the vehicle. According to officials, the driver and security personnel of the DSP saved his life by jumping on the side of the road, but he (DSP) got hit by the truck. DSP Singh along with his team had gone to Pachgaon near Tavadu to conduct raids to check illegal stone mining in the Aravalli hills. Raids are being conducted in 24 villages under the search operation. Along with this, 236 vehicles which were plying without any documents have been seized.
