Lucknow: A father, who is preparing for his daughter's wedding in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur district, made up his mind to sell land and his son got agitated. The son, after a quarrel with his father, killed his sister by attacking her with a sharp weapon while she was sleeping. The case pertains to village Sarai Yusuf, which falls under Thana Khairabad area of Sitapur.

The name of the murder accused brother has been identified as Sonu and his father's name has been given as Mahesh. It is being told that he committed the crime at around 6 in the morning.   His sister Preeti was sleeping on the terrace. At the same time, the accused stabbed his sister to death with a sharp-edged weapon. When the accused killed his sister, father Mahesh had gone to the farm. The killer had reached his family for three days at his in-laws' house in a nearby village at Bahunagar under Khairabad police station area for a marriage function. He returned from his in-laws' house in the morning and committed the murder.  

It was only on Wednesday that Preeti's marriage was confirmed at Purwa Chaubeypur. Sonu had a dispute with his father over selling some land for marriage. However, the police are on the spot and investigation is on.
